About Heidi

Heidi is a highly experienced registered nurse who began her nursing career in 1991. Her time in oncology provided the opportunity to develop specialised expertise in lymphoedema, leading her to a role as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the multidisciplinary team at the Cancer Institute (PMQ MNC CI). She has now been working in the field for 19 years, building extensive experience in managing complex lymphatic conditions.

Eleven years ago, Heidi further expanded her skills by completing a diploma in remedial massage, allowing her to combine her nursing and massage expertise to provide holistic care in the private sector. She remains committed to professional development, maintaining accreditation with the Australian Lymphoedema Association (ALA) and regularly attending conferences and symposiums to stay at the forefront of lymphatic research, education, and training.

Why Lymphoedema?

While working in the chemotherapy suite in oncology, Heidi saw an opportunity to move into a more personable field where she could combine her nursing expertise with complementary therapies to support patients’ overall wellbeing. She has always believed in a holistic approach to health, recognising the power of integrating complementary therapies alongside conventional treatments. Heidi was also a co-founder of the Complementary Therapies Committee at MNCCI, which works to integrate complementary therapies into clinical practice and professional conversations within Western healthcare.

Heidi’s philosophy centres on empowering clients to manage their condition with confidence. Through education, validation, and informed choice, she supports each person with care grounded in hope, trust, and ongoing learning.

Heidi's Philosophy
Complementary Therapies?

They add value to conventional medicine by supporting symptoms associated either with disease or medications used to treat disease. Manual lymph drainage massage has a plethora of positive effects on the body that extends beyond the lymphatic system.
